Weather: Beautiful Colorado day; warm, cooling off later in the day..

River Condition: Water temps between 53-57. High clear water, fair visibility, some good sight fishing on banks!

Report:
The South Platte is fishing very good, and it is a great time of year to be on the water.  Everyone caught fish, including rainbow, brook, brown, cutthroat, and cut bow trout.  Nymph fishing was most productive in the morning, and afternoon saw a few big fish coming up for DRY FLIES!

The fish were in the slower pools and on the banks, and were actively feeding.  A few came to the surface and ate dry flies, including one very pretty cut-bow trout, but most of the action was below the surface.

The South Platte and its tributaries should be very good all summer and through the fall.  There is lots of water in the high country this year, and this should keep water temps cool and the fish happy all summer.

As the water levels have stabilized we are seeing consistently good fishing in the South Platte and its tributaries.

We are seeing some great action on some of the smaller creeks as the water is dropping!
